What has our 4-star hotel in Lana near Merano achieved so far?

In addition to a lot of work, it is certainly also our hotel philosophy: “Enjoy with friends”. This guiding principle is the linchpin of our 4-star hotel. Our idea of enjoyment is made up of high-quality, vital cuisine, an exquisite range of wines, many opportunities for rest and relaxation in the wellness area, enjoyable hiking tours and a cozy, family atmosphere that invites you to feel good all round and in which our guests can relax in peace and quiet. Every single commitment in our 4-star hotel in Merano and Environs is important for this to succeed.

The family behind the 4-star Hotel Pfeiss

Erika followed in her parents’ footsteps in 1988 and decided to take over the guesthouse together with her husband Paul. Over the years, Erika can be found wherever specific preparations need to be made – be it in the kitchen, in service or at reception. She has recently found a new favorite pastime in addition to her duties in the business: being a loving grandma to her cherished grandchildren.

Paul, as senior manager, is available to his guests around the clock with help and advice. He supervises and organizes hikes and wine tastings. He can usually be found wherever he is needed in our 4-star hotel and knows how best to respond to a wide range of requests.

Daniel, Erika and Paul’s son is the boss of the house. He was head chef at our 4-star hotel for over 10 years and is a member of the CookArt Initiative. An international organization of chefs, which was founded to innovatively reinterpret South Tyrolean cuisine. If Daniel wasn’t working in the kitchen or at the bar, he was probably at a CookArt event. Since handing over the position of head chef to his second chef of many years, Daniel can now be found in almost every area. During the day at reception and in management, in the evening in service or behind the bar creating cocktails. Daniel is also responsible for hotel planning and, together with Mara and Steffi, for the marketing of our hotel.

Mara is Chef Daniel’s wife and looks after our reception. She organizes, coordinates and reads our guests’ every wish from their lips. But that’s not all, the Val Gardena native will of course find the right hiking or leisure tip for everyone.

Steffi, Daniel’s sister, has found her field of activity in service and ensures that every guest is accompanied by the right wine at dinner. Together with her team, she creates a relaxed atmosphere during mealtimes and at the bar.

Harry is the man at Steffi’s side. Although he does not work directly for us at the 4-star Hotel Pfeiss, he is no stranger to our regular guests. Due to his job in software development, he is always ‘allowed’ to help out when the technology goes on strike somewhere.

Simon, Steffi and Harry’s son, is the little charmer at the age of one. He loves spending time with his grandma and enchants our guests every day with his enchanting smile.

Nicole, Daniel and Mara’s daughter, is the youngest member of the “Pfeiss” family and is taking hearts by storm with her gentle nature.

Our house chronicle

In 1964, Maria and Josef Mair built this small accommodation in the Merano region in a wonderful location – in Niederlana. They ran it as a family business with great diligence and commitment until 1988.
Thanks to the home-style cooking and their friendly manner, their business soon became very popular. Numerous guests from near and far enjoyed visiting them again and again – many regulars still come to us today.
Her daughter Erika and her husband, Paul Überbacher, have been running the guesthouse since 1988. In 2000, we decided to carry out a major renovation in order to meet the expectations of our long-standing regular guests.
In the meantime, the children, Stefanie and Daniel, are also helping out in the business, in keeping with family tradition. In 2012, we made the decision to convert this accommodation in the Merano region into a hotel.

In order to be able to offer our guests even more relaxation, enjoyment and culinary highlights, we decided to upgrade to the four-star hotel category in 2016. Of course, this change has not only brought with it a necessary renovation, but also many new highlights for our long-standing guests.

Despite the many developments over the years, our basic ideas are still the same. We are a family-run hotel near Merano/Meran with a relaxed atmosphere, where everyone can feel at home and spend a vacation that is as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
